  • Designing Continuity: Talent, Technology & Knowledge Retention

Labor turnover and shifting workforce demographics are reshaping how AEC firms capture knowledge, collaborate, and sustain expertise. With up to four generations working side by side, firms must find new ways to bridge gaps in experience, expectations, and technology adoption.

This interactive session explores how technology can support knowledge transfer and collaboration across generations—while respecting different work styles and strengths. Participants will discuss how teams share institutional knowledge, adapt to new tools, and create workflows that work for everyone, from seasoned professionals to emerging talent.

Through open discussion and real-world examples, attendees will examine practical strategies for reducing knowledge loss, encouraging cross-generational learning, and using technology to build more connected, resilient teams.
